Patient Information – Mounjaro (tirzepatide) for Weight Loss
You may have seen recent media reports saying GPs can now prescribe weight-loss injections like Mounjaro. While this is true nationally, in our area (Suffolk and North East Essex), GPs are not commissioned to provide these medications directly for weight loss.
Instead, the local NHS uses a Community Outreach service model, meaning:
• Access is only through a specialist NHS weight management service (WMCOS), which is not currently operating.
• Patients must be clinically assessed to determine eligibility.
• Only those meeting strict NHS criteria (including specific BMI and health conditions) will be offered treatment.
Please do not book a GP appointment just to request Mounjaro. Your GP cannot prescribe it outside this specialist pathway.

Welcome to the Eye Health Centre
Eye Health Centre serves the town of Eye and surrounding villages. We have two GP Partners, who are supported by a full time Practice Manager and an Assistant Practice Manager.
We have a Nursing team who are assisted by our Healthcare Assistant and Phlebotomist. We also hae two Emergency Care Practioners that see acute on the day conditions. They can both prescribe for patients.
We have a Dispensary team and a Reception team that are always happy to assist.
We offer a full range of general medical services and are able to dispense medication to patients who live more than one mile away from the centre of Eye.
Our aim is to treat all our patients promptly, courteously and in the strictest of confidence.
